ARIZONA DEFENSIVE TACTICS INSTITUTE FIREARMS TRAINING

PISTOL AND RIFLE COURSE  

This course of training will focus on marksmanship from different positions. As well as basics to advance weapons handling skills that will increase each student proficiency whit the rifle or pistol.

FIREARMS SAFETY RULES

1- Treat all Firearms as if they are loaded.

2- Keep the finger out of the trigger until you are ready to shoot, and you are on target.

3- Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction, keep the muzzle away from anything you do not intend to engage.

4-Be sure you target and beyond and surroundings.

SHOOTING RANGE SAFETY RULES

All safety rules will be strictly enforced. Unsafe or careless behaviors will not be tolerated.

Upon first handling a firearm, immediately face a safe direction. And whey for instructor commands.

Never offer a firearm or receive a firearm from another person unless the action is open, the firearm is unloaded, and the open ejection port can be seen by the person receiving the firearm.

When transporting a firearm to and from the shooting range, handguns should be holstered or in a case, rifle must in a rifle case, and unloaded.

Follow all commands from the firearms instructor as they are given, DO NOT ANTICIPATE COMMANDS.

ANY PERSON IN THE RANGE CAN CALL CEASE FIRE, immediately signal any unsafe condition on the range by raising a hand in the air and calling cease fire.

All loading and unloading during training sessions will be conducted on the firing line and only when instructed to do so.

Once a course of fire has begun, do not leave the firing line for any reason unless instructed to do so.

Eye and ear protection must be worn at all times when firing.

Cease fire if the report or recoil of firearm is weak or peculiar {squib load) if this is occurs keep the firearm pointed down range and raise a hand to signal and instructor for assistance, Do not pull the trigger a second time.

No eating, drinking, or chewing gum or tobacco are allowed in the firing line.

During the firearms training session, dry firing will not be allowed unless under the instructor supervision.

Never permit the muzzle of the firearm to touch the ground.

Never go in the front of firing line or bend over to pick up dropped items without first receiving clearance from the firearms instructor.

Do not attempt to catch a dropped firearm.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

EYE PROTECTION.

Always wear eye protection when shooting.

Do not wear glass lenses.

HEARING PROTECTION

Always worn ear protection soft plugs, hard ear protection, or electronics protection should worn when you shooting, feil to do so you may damage you hearing permanent.

First aid and trauma kits must be available in shooting courses.
